The Northumberland Coastal Run was held on Sunday 19th July and was a hugely popular event organised by Alnwick Harriers. A total of 997 runners completed the 14 mile coastal course from Beadnell to Alnmouth and many spectators turned up to enjoy the event.
Carl showed tremendous form to win the event by a comfortable margin – a testament to his training over the summer so far.
The Northumberland Gazette report includes the following:
For Carl this was a great moment as he was demoted from first place last year due to a mix-up with his entry. This year, however, he finished well clear of his nearest rival posting a brilliant 1.15.42, the fastest time at the race since 2009.
