The Northumberland Coastal Run was held on Sunday 19th July and was a hugely popular event organised by Alnwick Harriers. A total of 997 runners completed the 14 mile coastal course from Beadnell to Alnmouth and many spectators turned up to enjoy the event.
Carl showed tremendous form to win the event by a comfortable margin – a testament to his training over the summer so far.
For Carl this was a great moment as he was demoted from first place last year due to a mix-up with his entry. This year, however, he finished well clear of his nearest rival posting a brilliant 1.15.42, the fastest time at the race since 2009.

During June 2015 Carl spent 5 weeks at the University of Bath. Looking for a change of career and to encourage and motivate others to enjoy the benefits of sport and exercise, Carl undertook a course of study at the University which culminated in successful acquisition of the following qualifications:
Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training
Level 2 Certificate in Circuit Training
Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction (Gym-based)
First Aid certificate
FK Pro Suspension Training Instructor Qualification
Together with his wealth of personal experience of training and competing at a very high level in the disciplines of cycling and running, Carl is now in an excellent position to achieve success in the field of Personal Training.
Carl has set up a partnership with Carole Page, called Physicality, in newly renovated premises at 160 Main Street, North Sunderland, Seahouses.
Carole is also a Level 3 Personal Trainer and in addition is qualified in Sports Massage from the London School of Sports Massage. Together they aim to provide a combination of Personal Training and Sports Massage to assist clients in achieving their own personal aims in sport and exercise at whatever level that may be from a run on the beach to representing Great Britain.
